Being an online business owner can be stressful at times. Looking back at the past few weeks I really need to take a break and let the milestones I achieved to sink in. Let me fill you in to my 2 major announcements this month.

Ever since I started my online business I faced the same problem that many of use are facing day in and day out. Here’s how you can explode your affiliate marketing:

1. Click on the register link on the menu on the left.

2. Login to your admin area.

3. Click on the ‘Subscribe to programs’ tab and add your personal affiliate ids for each program. If you’re not an affiliate for one or the other program, join it right from this screen as well. All programs I promote are free to join, so don’t worry.

4. After subscribing to all the programs go back to your main menu. If you’re an experienced webmaster you can add the RSS feed to your website. This will boost the freshness of your website and your rankings. If you’re not as experienced or you don’t have a website use the single link provided at the bottom.

5. Use this link to send to your opt-in email list. Run a solo ad, do anything you like. At the end you’re promoting your own affiliate links.

Affiliate Programs – The Fast Track to Wealth

Remember the day when you made the ultimate decision to change your life? Yes, it was the day when you decided to start your own home business. Gosh, I remember the anxiety when I uploaded my very first web site, waiting for something to happen. It’s like going onto a stage and performing in front of a large crowd.
Ok, what has this to do with affiliate programs and how to make money with them? Not much other than this is the primary reason why people spending money online. Emotions are the number one selling factor, period. And newbie web masters are loaded with emotions.

When you started your home business, did you have a product to sell? Neither did I. That’s why affiliate programs are perfect for startup home businesses. In a nutshell, an affiliate sells products from somebody else and keeps a commission from each sale. An affiliate id responsible for all the advertising and only gets paid whenever there’s a sale.

Take a break and think about this for a minute. Every day there are thousands of people online, searching for products and ideas to make money with. They know that there’s big money to make and they are eager to get started. When you started your home business it probably never crossed your mind to sell your own products and to run your own affiliate program.

If you’re in the online business for a while with mediocre results it is time to switch sides. Why should you carry most of the risk with your advertisement spending with less than satisfactory sales results? Not to mention that you’re at the mercy of somebody else’s reliability to send you your hard earned money.
If you don’t have a product to sell, go out there and search for products with master resale rights. This will grant you the exclusive rights to sell the product and keep 100% of the profits. Selling the product through affiliates doesn’t violate this, because you’re paying your affiliates for the advertising efforts, the final sale is still made by you.

Of course there are a million products with master resale rights available. Choose your product wisely. You don’t want to start an affiliate program with products that are already over marketed and maybe available for free or as part of a bonus package. This takes some time and research, but it is well worth the effort.

One source is to research the public domain sector and compile your own information product. There are numerous publications available on this topic. Another source is to join a membership program that sells master resale rights products. Make sure that they offer unique products and check their rules. Many offer a trial membership, take advantage of this.

Once you have your product start your affiliate program. Don’t join one of the many services that offer affiliate program services for a monthly fee. Here’s why. Having thousands of affiliates advertising your product is a great thing. Having thousands of free links to your web site is priceless.

Create as many advertising samples for your affiliates as possible. Have these samples point to different entry points to your web site. Banners are the worst advertising tools, but newbie web masters love them. They are easy to implement. What do you care, you got your free link to your website. Make sure that you use search engine friendly affiliate links. Affiliate links with a “?” are recognized as such. Better are the affiliate links that look like a directory structure. The easy way to implement this is to use PHP as your language of choice.

Guess what will happen after a few months running your own affiliate program from your website? Your own web site will skyrocket in rankings on any search engine, because you got so many links to your web site without having a link farm on your own. This is every web masters dream. Now you have a choice. You either aggressively promote your affiliate program or you promote your products. Either way you win.

If you’re still skeptical, go to Google or Yahoo and search for links pointing to your favorite affiliate program. Simply type ‘links:’ and your affiliate program’s domain name into the search field. Make sure you don’t have any blanks. This will return all the websites that are linking back to this affiliate program. Check out the number on the right upper corner where it says ‘Results 1 – 10 of about x’. x stands for the total number of links. Now do the same for your website. Hmm, you got nothing? Well, that’s the difference. I hope you see the power of this by now.

Before you go out there and slab together your own affiliate program. Do your homework and research as much as possible. You want to get it right the first time.

Affiliate program Review

As I mentioned over and over again, I will be honest in writing any reviews of programs I personally participate. If I don't like what I'm experiencing with any one of them I will let you know. Also I will tell you of a business opportunity is worth the effort or not.

This month I will talk about 2 affiliate/MLM programs I joined a while ago and they are just not performing. Let me be more specific. They are not performing despite the time and money I invested into the promotion of these programs. I'm not talking about a few bucks, I'm talking about hundreds of dollars invested and very little in return. These are the kind of business opportunities that will discourage newcomers.

The first program I quit was GDI. GDI or website.ws offers .ws domain name registration and web hosting services. The domain name registration is Ok, the web hosting service sucks and the email service I never even tried. Don't get fooled by the advertising pitch that .ws stands for website. It actually is the country registration for West Samoa. A little tiny island in the Pacific Ocean. I found this information after I researched more about GDI and the .ws domain.

To be honest with you, I was very impressed with GDI's marketing. Probably some of the best I've seen so far. However, I wasted hundreds of dollars with GDI supplied leads, 13,000 to be exact. Out of these leads I got 4(!) sign ups. Meanwhile 2 of them quit. So, I'm getting $2 a month in commission compared to $10 I spend for the membership. I wouldn't mind if the monthly commissions would cover the cost. Then at least I would have a chance to recover the initial investment over time. Either way this doesn't sound like a good business investment.
Bottom line, I have to stop the financial drainage and quit the program.

The second program is ISPVIP. They offer dialup internet connectivity in several countries all over the world. The cost is reasonable and the their tools seem to work fine. I signed up because of the income opportunity. After a half a year with no signups I decided to quit the program. I don't need an additional dialup ISP and the ISPVIP website did not convert at all. There's nothing wrong with the service, but this is not a good business opportunity.

Again, I have to stop the financial drainage and quit the program.

As you can see I don't mind to tell you when I'm wrong and I certainly don't want you to get burned like me. If you made similar experiences with affiliate programs, please let me know and I will write about it in this newsletter.

Traffic Generator Review

InstantBuzz

Yes, InstantBuzz is back, stronger than ever. Despite the recent setbacks InstantBuzz is gaining support all over the place. The last time I wrote about InstantBuzz I mentioned the drop in visitors to my website. Yes in deed I certainly missed the flow of traffic from InstantBuzz while the site was down.

For those who don't know what InstantBuzz is, here's a little overview. InstantBuzz is absolutely free to use. Once you signed up you have 3 ways to advertise your products.

A toolbar on Internet Explorer displays InstantBuzz member ads every time a new webpage is displayed. In exchange of these ads displayed on your IE your ad will be displayed on another member's browser. There's a formula to calculate how many times your ad will be displayed. They are working on a FireFox version as well.

Every time you send out an email InstantBuzz automatically inserts a member ad on top of the email. Your ad will be included on somebody else's email correspondence. Very powerful to bypass these ugly SPAM filters.

An unblockable popup can be inserted onto all of your web pages. This will display a small popup on the right upper corner. Again your ad will be displayed on somebody else's web page.

I don't want to go into too much detail. However the key to a constant traffic flow is in building your downline. The more people contributing to your viewing statistic the more often your ads will be displayed. Remember this is not your typical random traffic. People are clicking on your ad because they are curious what you have to offer. This is pure targeted traffic marketing.

The only thing I regret is that I didn't sign up for the gold membership when I joined. This will give you a head start in the exchange system and your ads are displayed a lot more often than as a free member. The catch is, that you can't switch your membership after you joined. So, if you're serious in internet marketing and looking for a prime advertising opportunity, sign up for the gold membership at the time of joining. If you don't it will be too late and you will never get another chance to do so.

The Rats Are Winning the Rat Race

There was this great entrepreneur who came up with a genius idea. He went and bought eggs; lot’s of eggs and paid 5 cents per egg. Then he painted the eggs and sold them for 3 cents. While doing this he became a millionaire. How in the world did he do this?

Did he miraculously find a way to reproduce each egg? The numbers don’t add up, but still he became a millionaire. He also has proof that he’s officially a millionaire. Still puzzled about this? Well, here’s the answer; he started out as a billionaire. Huh, bad joke! No quite. That’s about how you must feel with all the business opportunities advertised day in and day out.

Everybody claims to make a fortune out of thin air and everybody claims to have proof that it works. If you’re long enough in this business you will realize that most of these claims and corresponding proof are copies from somebody else’s “success story”. Ever so often there’s a new email floating around that claims the same exact results than a similar email that you received a few weeks ago. Same content different product.

But still, there are thousands and millions who want to believe that the only thing they have to do is to go online and start making money. That’s of course the message that all these clever internet marketers send out to a well responding crowd. These people are caught in the moment and act like deer in the headlights.

So what’s the outcome of this? Those gurus are making more money and the opportunity seekers are getting milked until they can’t afford it anymore. Now wonder there are so many angry and frustrated opportunity seekers out there.

My next question would be; are all these self proclaimed gurus just smoking mirrors and con artists? By all means NO! Everything they claim to be the next big money maker is possible for the most part of it. So why doesn’t it work for me?

The answer is simple. They have all the web traffic they need and thousands of quality contact email addresses at their disposal. If you don’t know it by now, it is one big numbers game! If you don’t have the numbers, you don’t make any money, period!

How do we win the rat race? So far the rats are winning and there’s little or nothing we can do. Well not quite. The one thing you have to do is changing your mindset. It’s no longer about winning; you need to get comfortable with the fact to be the runner-up.

Kiss the dream of a six-figure income goodbye and embrace the more realistic 3 and 4 figure margin; or even better, be happy to make at least some money. Most of your peers aren’t making nay money at all and just depleting the hard earned funds to a pile of rubble.

Based on this outlook shouldn’t you just close up shop and quit wasting your time? I hate to say this, but it depends. If you are able to learn from your mistakes and constantly tweaking your efforts and streamlining your products and services, you will have a good chance to survive. If you are a pure copycat and never ever invest a minute of your time to analyze your situation, sorry you have no future in this business.

I know I will stir up some heavy duty emotions with statements like these. However in my opinion it is the brutal truth. You have a choice. You can go out there and experience it first hand and most likely get burned or you can take a break now and analyze your situation. If you still believe you got what it takes, go for it. Everybody else, quit before somebody gets hurt.

For the past few days I'm testing a new ad exchange program called "Viral Thank You Ads". Sound a bit strange, but it actually is something brand new and it utilizes an often forgotten part of your business -> your Thank You page.

Take a look at your thank you page. 90% of all thank you pages simply say thank you. You are leaving money on the table by doing this. One of the biggest assets in online marketing is trust. If somebody reaches your thank you page he/she are already trusting you by either purchasing a product from you or subscribing to your ezine.

Free Email Accounts – Pros and Cons

Free email accounts are great if you want to hide your identity. They are great to sign up for free stuff. They are also very popular for SPAM emails and due to this they also filter too many non-spam emails as well. Ever wondered why you haven't heard from a friend lately. All a sudden no more emails, not even the forwarded jokes. Your friend just disappeared and you scratching your head what you have done to tick him/her off.

Your friend didn't disappear, only his/her emails are disappearing. No notice, no error message, nothing, the email simply disappeared. The bad news is, there's not much you can do about it. On the other hand you can still enjoy the free emails if you switch to a lesser know email provider. Besides the big 3 Hotmail, Yahoo and Google, here's a list of smaller providers of free email services.

Email Accounts For Business Purpose

Did you know that with every web hosting service you will also get enough email accounts to last forever? Not only will an email address that ends in @yourdomain.com show your professional approach to your online business it also gives you great control over what messages you want to receive and which ones you want to filter.

I set up my emails into multiple accounts for business purposes. These accounts have a very tight SPAM filter. I also have a couple of accounts for newsletter sign up purposes where I don't filter at all. Yes I get a lot of SPAM there as well, but these accounts are set up to receive everything. The nice side effect of having many email addresses when you running an online business is that you can test your email campaign beforehand.

Instead of guessing if your response rate to an email campaign is due to the SPAM filters or your headline simply sucks. You have piece of mind that your emails will make it to your prospects, but apparently your headline is more or less a turn off.

One important factor of advertising your business is the name recognition. Even people don't remember your web site address they probably remember your name. Unfortunately the chances to get your name as a domain name in the .com name space are slim to none. Most of the other name spaces are filling quickly. The good news is that there's a new name space just released, .ws, but you need to hurry up. Although it is fairly new, domain names are going fast and the longer you wait the less are your chances to get your personal domain name.

So far I taught you a lot of tricks and tips on how to actually make real money on the internet. The more seasoned marketers also found a lot of valuable information to maximize their profits. Now I will show you a technique that will blow you away in its simplicity. Utilizing Yahoo’s search engine to make money with Google’s advertising system. 

This might sound too good to bee true. Fact is it is a money maker. How is this possible? The answer is; doorway pages with Google AdSense advertising.  
Let’s look at it step by step.

You need a lot of doorway pages targeting less attractive keywords. The topic doesn’t really matter. It can be anything. You might want to keep it to a general topic, but it is not necessary. The key is volume. You want to be on the first results page of any of your keyword searches. That’s why you want exotic keywords and phrases.

You need a Google AdSense account. In order to get approved for an account you need a website. Make sure that your website contains a lot of content. I showed you previously how to get a content rich website.

After being approved for a Google AdSense account you will put your Google code on every single doorway page and web page you have. Maximum exposure is your key to success. Use TraffiEqualizer to automatically create as many doorway pages as you like.

Next you put the technique I introduced in my Bonus Section 2 to work. Using the power of blogs in combination with the content hunger of Yahoo.

Within a few days your entire web will indexed by Yahoo and present an army of traffic to your doorway pages. Because you optimized your doorway pages to very strange keywords and if these keywords are used to search on Yahoo, your doorway page will by in the top 10 search results. And that’s all we want.

 You can imagine that creating a factory like this will take you the rest of your life, so what’s the point? Well, you need help. And I have the right help for you. 5 products that will put your online business on autopilot and let you multiply your success over and over again.

Before I introduce you to the tools and technique I have a word of caution. Please do me and yourself a favor. Don’t abuse this backdoor by getting too eager to get it going. This will backfire and ultimately closes this door forever. As of now it works and key to success is persistence, not speed. You will only submit and ping one single URL every 15 minutes to your blog. If you send too many pages and ping in too close of an interval you will be flagged as SPAM and the door closes. So be patient, 7 days to index a several hundred pages rich web site beats the hell out of several months of waiting for Yahoo to do it on its own. Sometimes you may wait forever.

Ok, after getting approved by Google into their Google AdSense program, here’s what you have to do.

Use TrafficeEqualizer to generate keyword optimized doorway pages. Jeff Alderson created special templates where you can copy and paste you Google AdSense code directly into the right pace. 

Search for keywords with the build in search tool and let the tool do the rest. It will create a doorway page for each keyword phrase you selected. Including Google AdSense advertising related to the keyword. Follow the instructions of TrafficEqualizer on how to connect your website with the doorway pages. 

Upload all your pages to your pages to you web host. Do not submit your website to any search engines. The only entry point should be through your blog and then Yahoo. All the other search engines will pick up from Yahoo and your web site will get a much higher ranking, because you didn’t submit your website to them. Trust me, this works like a charm. 

Now, your web site is ready for action. Next put BloggingEqualizer to work. Simply let BloggingEqualizer spider your website to gather all the web pages and build the list. Follow the instructions on how to setup a blog on Google and how to ping Yahoo. Let BloggingEqualizer run as long as possible each day. I’m connected to the internet through broadband cable and I never turn off my computer. So my blog and ping runs 24/7. You don’t have to do this, but the longer you can stay connected the better.  

After a couple of days you will see the first results. Check your web host log. You will see an increase in traffic and this trend will go on. Check your Google AdSense statistic, you will be pleasantly surprised. 

A word of caution. You probably won’t get rich with this, but it will build a nice steady income and that’s exactly what we’re looking for. Have fun with this little game and let me know how you’re doing with it.

When I first heard of the term Viral Marketing I thought immediately of a virus. No, not the flu, a computer virus. I avoided viral marketing like the plaque. I’m sure many of you are doing the same thing. Every email labeled viral marketing got trashed and I immediately run an anti virus check on my computer.

I actually took me long time and the convincing words of a dear friend of mine to change my attitude towards viral marketing. Call it ignorance, but I just didn’t have the confidence in something that sounds like it wants to harm me.

Today my whole world changed and now I’m an active advocate to promote viral marketing. The concept is not new and it was created by the brightest minds in the business.

Viral marketing capitalizes in the sharing habits of the human beings. It’s quite extraordinary. We all tent to share with friends and family the bargains or freebies we were able to get. If we can copy the freebie we will do it and give it to our friends and family. Take the music industry as an example.

Ok, we established that viral marketing is giving out free stuff and that this free stuff will be passed around. So how do you capitalize on something everybody expects to get for free? You don’t. You just use the freebie as an advertising vehicle.

See, once you started giving out software or a book for free, it will snowball from there. Granted that the software is any good and the book provides some value. There is no telling on how many copies of your software or book will float through the internet. The only thing you now for sure, it takes some time to gain momentum.

Take Hotmail as an example. Hotmail build its empire solely on viral marketing. Every email you send had a little line at the end advertising free email from Hotmail. That’s it. No expensive marketing strategy, no TV ads, nothing but a little advertising line at the end of every email. It took years of building momentum, but today Hotmail is a giant pulling in billions of dollars every year.
I’m not expecting to repeat Hotmail’s success with my little viral marketing project, but I’m convinced that sooner or later the profits will come. It is simply a matter of time. All you need is a good product that you control and be able to give out for free. Make sure that you will be able to place your advertising on the front page of the product.

You can advertise your newsletter, your web site, products you’re selling, anything you will make a profit if somebody clicks through the advertising on the freebie. I spare you with the details why the same ad advertised through viral marketing is so much more effective than regular advertising.

Just one thought. Would you click on a single ad embedded in a software or book send to you by a friend you trust? Of course you would. There is nothing suspicious about this. It’s your friend who recommended this in the first place. On the other hand nobody actually clicks on advertising popping up on strange web sites you never heard of before.

Now you see why I like viral marketing so much. Quite frankly I believe in the future it is the only marketing that works. SPAM filters and popup blockers already make it almost impossible to get through to our prospects and it will not get any better.

Prepare your self for the future and implement viral marketing today. You will be glad you did.

My Vision Of Multiple Streams of Income, Part 2

A while back I wrote a little article called “My Vision of Multiple Streams of Income”. After receiving several emails asking for a sequel and sharing more real life experience I decided to give an update on my journey with SFI and Stone Evans’ PIPS system.

As I mentioned in my last article I went off a good start with this system and I honestly can attest it really works. The only negative thing is, if you want to call it this way, that I put a lot of effort into this project. The system is designed to run on autopilot, that’s great. But until you’ve reached a certain level of visibility, you need run your promotions around the clock. I’m almost there.

As an example: I run several Google AdWords campaigns to promote my website and SFI. The reason for this is simple. This is a highly competitive market and achieving high rankings with the major search engines takes a long time and due to the rough competition you won’t be able to reach the top without a few backdoor tricks.

So I took the route of actually spending some advertising money and in return I have a wide spread exposure. Remember the baseball movie with Kevin Kostner “Field of Dreams” with the famous remark “If you build it they will come”? Unfortunately this is no longer true for the internet.

Back to the topic of controlling the advertising cost with Google AdWords. I closely track my expenses and I keep a lit on it if it gets too high.
The tricky part is to decide when it is too high. I don’t have an answer for this. For me it means whatever I’m comfortable with. Because you’re building residual income and you’re not aiming for a single sale. This is hard to gauge. Conversion rates are useless, although my conversion rate so far is over 20%. That is pretty good from what I read about this topic. What this number means in subsequent income has to be determined.

I also tapped into the extensive library of SFI’s partner IAHBE. At first I just joined this organization because it guarantees my position in the SFI network. But after researching their services and utilizing their benefits like free mail leads, I have to say that this is a great institution. It’s worth every penny of your monthly fees.

Speaking about value-added services and benefits. The one thing I’m truly impressed with is the quality and consistency of the marketing material offered by SFI. The wealth of online and offline marketing material can be overwhelming, but if you use it appropriate it is a very effective tool. Of course SFI also offers quality products and services, which makes it easy to sell.

By using Stone Evans’ PIPS (Plugin Profit Site) system I could maximize these efforts. I’m selling all sorts of products and I already received several commission checks through my affiliate program with Clickbank. This is a huge affiliate provider for electronic books and software. My job is to attract customers to the products and then the manufacturer or author of the product does all the selling and credit card processing. As soon as the credit card is processed I receive a commission, which varies between products.

After about 3 months of running this business I would say that I’m still a little bit negative with my finances, but this is due to my extensive Google AdWords campaigns. By not counting this, I’m actually making some money. Nothing to brag about, but maybe in another 3 months my tune might change.

For a couple of weeks now I'm experimenting with a cool little tool called InstantBuzz. It is basically a toolbar installed on you web browser that collects a counter on how many times you displayed a one line advertising on your toolbar. This happens automatically in the background and it changes for every new website you're visiting. No need to look at websites you're absolutely not interested.

My Vision Of Multiple Streams of Income

You’ve must have read the phrase “multiple streams of income” numerous times on your journey searching for wisdom on the Internet. Regarding to Robert G. Allen, multiple streams of income are the stock market, real estate and the Internet. I prefer to add paycheck to this list as well. Most of us don’t feel comfortable to give up the security of a steady income, at least not in the beginning.

During the next few months I will publish new articles about my very own experiences with building multiple streams of income. Although I just recently started, I have a lot to share and I hope I will inspire someone to avoid the mistakes I made, and still will make.

Please join me on my journey to financial freedom through my home-based business on the Internet. I will cover my experiences and mistakes with the stock market and in the real estate business in separate articles. For now I’m focusing on the Internet business.

I wasted hours and hours searching for the almighty golden key to financial freedom. I spent a lot of money for worthless e-books and signed up to almost every newsletter there is. Until I had to switch email addresses. My inbox couldn’t keep up with the massive stream of useless emails.

What did I learn so far? Somebody else got a little bit closer to financial freedom, certainly not me! I was in desperate need of either giving up or dramatically changing my strategy. I’m not a quitter and whatever strategy I used, if so, it must change or I will find myself in financial hell.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not looking to make money out of thin air. I actually don’t believe in the get rich with no money schemes. The only person getting rich is the author of the book! Some of these strategies may work in theory, but I’ve never seen substantial results in the long run. I might be wrong on this one, if so, please send me your opinion and experience with this business strategy.

Here’s another advice; it takes time, lots of it. Don’t rush yourself into hasty decisions just because you think it is a hot deal. Do your homework and research the deal as good as possible. If this is the true “hot” deal, it will be around for a while. Otherwise it’s just another rip off scheme and someone else is making the big bucks. If you come across these 30 days to success guides, give yourself at least 60 days to achieve your access. Remember, patience is one of the key factors to success. Read the guide in its entirety and slowly start implementing the suggestions into action. Always keep track on what you did and double check after a few days or weeks, if it’s working. Make changes as necessary.

I really don’t remember how I got started with the idea of building my own home business on the Internet. I believe that I was searching for ways to increase web traffic to my real estate site. During my research I came across all these websites promising thousands of visitors to your site. Most of them are free, but you spend hours after hours to generate enough credits for your own site to be shown. And when the site is shown, guess who’s looking at it? Another sleepless soul, who is looking to increase traffic to their site. This is not exactly the type of customer you’re looking for.

After a while I thought, hmm, if I add a banner from a banner link exchange, then I will be able to trigger more targeted hits to my website. So I continued clicking night after night through these exchange services with little or no success. I wasted countless hours in front of the computer. My advice; stay away from these exchange services. Most of them are pure pyramid marketing schemes anyway. There are no real products or useful services offered by these sites.

At this point I started to discover the power of affiliate programs. And this, my friends, is the real deal! I’m not saying this just to get your attention; I’m speaking from experience. Affiliate programs come in any shape and form. Some are pure product reselling machines, others offer incentives for recruiting new affiliates and many are offering a combination of both. The real value behind this concept is; you get endless training material to sharpen your marketing skills. There are real products to sell and there is real money to make.
