Where To Find It
Over the next few newsletters let's review some of the PowerBlog features that have been with us for quite some time.Previously we have mentioned some of the PowerBlogNavigation Menu items.Just a reminder that the PowerBlog is available in a choice of languages, from Arabic to Welsh. About 2 dozen different world languages.
Now let's continue our study of what is available. The better you understand just what the PowerBlog offers, the more value you will derive from your membership. Learning how best to use the many features is well worth the investment of your time.
We are still looking at the links found at the left side. This time we want to mention the section calledCategories.You will find about a dozen different categories where the various blog postings are located.Here are a few examples of category titles. Home - Affiliate Programs - Product Announcements - Free Stuff - Articles - Help
When PowerBlog members create informational posts they must choose a category where these posts will be displayed.If you click on the Home link in the category sectionyou will be taken to the most recent post. This is regardless of which other category it actually belongs to.
Most of the other Category titles are really self-explanatory. For example, if it says Free Stuff, you can expect it will contain blog postings that refer to free stuff.Perhaps we should mention that there are two Help links. The one found higher up in the Navigation Menu simply goes to the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) area.
There is also a Help Link found at bottom of the Categories area. That one takes you to any PowerBlog postings which have been placed in the Help Category.
Here is a very important point to consider for those of you who are PowerBlog Pro members. If you are thinking of customizing your PowerBlog maybe you will choose to have it display only the posts which you personally created.If you make that choice, then the posts created by the PowerBlog Admin, Peter Dobler, and other members will not display in your customized version.
So you need to create personal posts which will fit in the various categories or else some of your category links will come up empty.Just realized that a few of my Category links have no posts in them.Guess I know what I need to do.
Question. In September 2006 what did the Admin say was the most powerful feature of the PowerBlog to date? Answer. Peter Dobler reminded his viewers that the then new Internal Message System was the most powerful feature. Your membership status determines how often you can post internal messages.
Every member has the opportunity to read messages and earn credits from clicking on the message links.After logging in to your members area, do the following. If necessary, click on the Home Tab. See Welcome back ... near the left side. Look across to the end of this line. Look for the button which says "Inbox" - Remember that you earn points for clicking on the link in these messages.
It Works For Me
As a Pro Member of the Powerblog I can add new items, revise or remove old items on the left hand side of my page. Look in the area underneath the bar called **Resources** After login to your members area you can click on the Skins tab to revise and update this section.
Something which I have added to this area since my last newsletter is the SearchBigDaddy search box.If it does not show in the current page you are viewing, then try this.Just scroll down to my About The Author link near the bottom of this post. Click on that link and then watch the left side for info.
A Word To The Wise
Just because a program appears to be popular within certain groups of people does not guarantee that it is a program of real value.Just because a program is ignored by the majority of people should not prevent you from taking a closer look at it. The majority are not always right.
You be the judge of what is best for you.

There is no better method of improving search engine ratings, than with the use of great keyword articles. This is something that all good web site owners know, and strive for. This is said to be the best way to optimize you pages of your site. Content that is focused on keywords generates a great amount of traffic to your site. Why this fact goes so completely unnoticed by site owners is still a mystery. One would figure people would understand that traffic is not solely reserved for the front and primary page of your site. Your site can be accessed from many pages on your site, provided you have many. If you only have one page, obviously this whole topic is moot.
If you have a site that is related to music, and you are speaking about perhaps 3 different articles the best way to generate more traffic to your site is to place keywords for all three articles. This in turn will make the likelihood of a sale more probable. The biggest problem with no cost, or free content is that it is generally not set up for keyword rich content. The general premise of free articles is basically author's self-promotion. This is a basic service and along with it unfortunately there are still rules to follow. For example, you cannot in any way change the article content, as you did not pay for it, you cannot remove or alter the bio box for the author again as you did not pay for the article. So in terms of this you may have an article picked up from one of these sites and find that it is good, however not great or just what you were looking for. Either way it cannot be adjusted.
It is also important to remember, that if you have picked up this particular article from one of those sites, so too could have 200 other people. This will do nothing in the way of staying on top of your competition in the field. The possibility of a web site having duplicate content as someone else leads to the search engine penalizing the site found to have the copy. Is it really worth it to you to get caught? There are many sites that have a membership base, where the content is keyword rich and the articles are great however; you are not the only one promoting the article. There could be as much as 1,500-2,000 members doing the very same thing, how are you separating yourself from the crowd.
It is important to remember either way, the objective is to gain valuable information or content for your site, this is not a situation where you are to share with your neighbor, as they are your direct competition. In doing this you are providing them the tools to put you out of business.
You might have heard the term social networking before. But chances are that you didn't pay attention to it. The same goes with social bookmarking. Both terms are heavily used amongst internet marketing gurus. There's a simple reason. You will get the word out to people with similar interests.
Selling internet marketing products to people how have no interest in internet marketing is like selling a refrigerator to an Eskimo. It just doesn’t make sense. Sometimes things happen for a reason and sometimes things happen because you don't know better. A similar situation happened to me several years ago. I just started my first steps online and came across a system that looked very promising at the time. Well, it looked promising based on my knowledge at the time.
I got trapped in a spiral of empty promises and finally I gave up. I spent a lot of money and had nothing to show for. Imagine the frustration I built up in me, not to mention the financial whole it left behind. Hindsight is 20/20, but I hat to be a Monday morning quarterback that goes out there and let everybody know, I told you so.
Ok, enough wining. The system I'm talking about is GDI. For crying out loud, why in the world would you go back to these guys? I hear you loud and clear. But hold your horses, I stumbled across another opportunity that actively endorsed the GDI system. That's what prompted another hard look at their system.
Here's what I found;

Con's - Expensive (even with domain registration and hosting) - Hosting is inflexible - Too much hype - Looks like a scam
Back in the days GDI offered a paid lead option. Naive I was I bought thousands of leads for thousands of dollars and almost went broke. I thought that secret of success was in mass emailing to leads who I had no idea where they came from. Sure enough the leads where low quality and no riches emerged from the GDI system.
So far it still looks like a pretty bad deal, doesn't it? I know. I wouldn't jump om it either. But there are some positive points GDIhas to offer. For online business newbies, setting up a website can be a nightmare and many are giving up there. GDI has a fool proof system that allows you to get your own domain and a website in just a few mouse clicksand you don't even need to know what exactly you're doing. It's all automated and works like clockwork.
The other benefit is, that you can get up to 10 email accounts. I know, Yahoo, Google and Hotmail offer these email accounts for free. But many traffic exchanges and safelists banned these accounts. So, now what do you do?
I actually put the new GDI to the test. The system is much improved since I was a member years ago. I moved my old Power Blog information website to the new domain www.powerblog.ws. Within 15 minutes everything was up and running, no problems at all. Also the built-in webpage generator is pretty easy to use and provides enough features for your first webpage.
There is no limit on how much traffic you can run towards the web hosting. I plan to use GDI as my landing host for splash pages. This will keep the bandwidth low for my main accounts. Don't worry if you don't understand what this means. I just illustrated that GDI offers an option for everybody.
The new GDI also offers a 7 day trial period. Check it out for 7 days and don't pay a dime if you don't like it.
Bottomline: GDI improved their offerings and stepped away from their shady past. No more hype, just plain simple domain registry and web hosting, plus a ton of marketing material. A bit pricey, but at least you get the opportunity to recover your cost by referring new members.

WebBizInsider is a traffic exchange that is similar to many others, but has some unique features that help me build my online marketing business.
You view other members' sites in order to earn credits for others to see your offers. This is just like other traffic exchanges, but WebBizInsider is more generous than some of the new traffic exchanges.
