Builder99 talks about the Benefits of using RSS feeds
Several years ago Gery Carson, founder of SFI suggested SparkLit forums as a good platform to support your SFI Team. SparkLit is also known as ActiveBoard.
Recently I made a lot of changes to my Help99 ActiveBoard. Will use my Help99 Team Support forum as a personal example of the benefits of using RSS feeds.

The Help99 forum homepage shows a list of Forum Categories. Each category has one or more Forum Topics within the category. Then there can be one or more forum posts and threads within each forum topic.
It could take several clicks to find the most recent post in any category. Then what if you wanted to see the most recent post in ALL the categories? It can be done but it requires time and patience. Is there a faster way?
Yes, there is a faster way. Here comes the benefit of using RSS feeds.

Now you will see the RSS feed format. It gives us a list of individual posts with the most recent post at top of the list.
Let us assume that we use the RSS feed Link to notify someone that my March 2009 SFI Newsletter is now online. By browsing the list of most recent Help99 forum posts they can easily find the Newsletter Link.
One click and they are viewing the most recent newsletter posting. No doubt about it, RSS feeds have major benefits.
