The details can be a little intimidating, especially for the amateurs and non-professionals that Mo Latif wants to sell Rapid Mass Traffic to. We also felt a little put-off with the introductions and big claims that this product promises – sometimes it sounds a bit like hard sell, and if you do not pay attention you might not reach the actual steps that he outlines.  But for now we prefer and commend the comprehensiveness because it proved the time and research that went into the product. It holds: the Rapid Mass Traffic method is a real process which will really garner results if you do it right.

Who benefits from using Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

What is page rank?

Page rank is simply a number ranking that is assigned by Google to represent the relative
“importance” of a web page. It’s a number between Null and 10. The higher the number, the more important that page is (at least as far as Google is concerned). How do I see page rank?

There are a few tools that will show you Google’s page rank very easily. The one I use is SEO Tools for Firefox.

There are several reasons why Internet marketers care so much about the page rank of their sites (or actually the pages within their sites…remember that page rank is assigned to each and every page on a site).

• Search Engine Rankings – All other things being equal (over simplification ahead!), the higher the page rank the higher the search engine rankings will be for a particular page. Obviously, this means more traffic!

• Pay Per Click advertising – Although Google will deny this, our studies have shown that the higher the page rank, the lower your costs will be for adwords pay per click advertising.

• “Link Juice” – This is perhaps the most important. The higher the page rank of a page that you own and control, the more “link juice” you can pass on to your other sites. We all know that search engine rankings are mostly nfluenced by links. The more links you have, the higher you’ll rank (a bit of an oversimplification again, but generally true). In addition, the “quality” of the links plays a major part. The higher the page rank of the linking page, the higher the quality of lhe link. So that, for example, one link from a Page Rank  page could be worth 500 links from a Page Rank 1 site.

Our study

We all know that links are the main driver behind Google’s page rank algorithms, but are they the only factor?

There are many rumors floating around about content and what variables may impact page rank. Because it’s so critical to our marketing efforts, we wanted to ensure that we were doing all we could to take advantage of the factors that have an impact. For example, one common thought is that updated or fresh content has an impact on page rank. Google likes to see content that is attempting to remain “current”. The theory says that sites with content that’s routinely updated will be rewarded with a higher page rank. It’s a lot of work to keep a site fresh, so they question is…is it worth the effort? Google, of course, won’t answer that. So, the only way to figure it out is to test.

This study included approximately 200 domains and has been going on for 1 year (although a couple domains have been evaluated over the past 3 years!). We have had 2 employees working
full time on this, and we’re going to share the results with you for free!

One word of caution…we are going to make statements of fact such as “Google doesn’t care about…” etc. These statements are based on the VAST majority of the domains that we tested,

NOT 100% of them. So, PLEASE…do not email me or write comments saying that your oned domain acted differently. In drawing our conclusions, we saw that 80‐90% of the domains followed the pattern, not 100%. There will be exceptions to the rules, but these statements will hold true for most domains.

Our conclusions

There were MANY things that people have theorized that Google actually cared about when evaluating page rank, all of which we found out were completely irrelevant.

• Google doesn’t care about the “freshness” of your content – Updating the content every day, once a week, once a month, or not at all had NO impact on Page Rank. The extreme example of this are three home pages (PR3‐4) where the content hasn’t changed at ALL in 3 years, and the PR has not gone lower. It has gone up down over time, but never tatistically lower than where it started. We also saw this in our test group over 9‐12 months.

• Google doesn’t care about the “quality” of your content – The content amount, and quality of the content has no impact on Page Rank. The extreme example of this, is comparing a squeeze page opt in with a content rich home page of a blog. We looked at examples all along the continuum of quality and amount of content, and it didn’t make a bit of difference. A crumby, poorly designed squeeze page with zero content had just as much PR potential as a content rich blog home page.

• Google doesn’t care if you change the contents of a page – For example, let’s say we have a page with a PR of 3. We can go in and COMPLETELY wipe out and change out the content, and it will have no lasting impact on that page rank. Typically, we saw a drop in 1‐2 levels of PR and then saw it come right back up to the old rank within 60‐90 days or so.

• Google doesn’t care about duplicate content ‐ At least when evaluating page rank, Google doesn’t care if the content on the page is unique.

• Google doesn’t care if you change registrars and or owners of a domain – This has some interesting implications that you can probably figure out! In these examples, PR dropped and was then regained just as it was when the content was completely changed.

• Google doesn’t care if you change hosting providers and/or servers – Similar to changing
registrars, PR dropped and was then regained. What does Google care about then? Simple…links and ONLY links Absolutely the only thing that had an impact on page rank in our study for the majority of domains was back links. The more back links and the higher the quality of those back links, the higher the page rank of the page that was being linked to.

7 Marketing Tips to Make Your Site Search Engine Friendly

There are a few things to you should keep in mind when creating content for your website or membership site.  I've listed 7 search engine friendly tips that will help you rank well and steer clear of problems you don't need.

You've probably heard a few of them before, and I'll put them together for you to help you remember them ok?

1.  First of all, we know we should use unique content wherever it's possible.  You can find a great deal of content by searching and affordable PLR or low/no cost reprints too.  To the search engines, unique content is at least 30% rewritten or different than any other webpage on the internet.

If you need ideas for unique content, you can get on some mailing lists, newsletters, and research topics that interest you.  Compare products, ideas, and research results, review products or endorse people you like.  Another casual rule is to write 70% of an article you're referring to about a particular subject.

You may want to stay with topics that are current, so it is beneficial to browse some of the bookmarking sites and social sites for new ideas.  A people friendly site is not restricted to business ideas, but fresh new topics are of interest and work like "hotcakes."  I like to add a little humor where its appropriate or a viewpoint that's not ordinary.  Everyone has their own experiences and that's what makes them the unique person that they are, so information sharing is all the more interesting when we discuss and review them.

2. Add New Content Regularly

To maintain a high page rank with the search engines, and a quality membership site, webmasters need to regularly add new content to their websites.  The freshness of a newly written blog is a desirable thing.  Blogs are a great way to add content on a regular basis.  Inviting comments is also a good way to increase your ranking, and at the same time may give you new ideas for follow up blog posts.

3.  Keyword Use

Remember to select specific keyword phrases that are relevant to the webpage you are optimizing rather than general terms.  Being more specific will get you more targeted traffic to your site, and if you're general with your terms, the competition is so great that you may not be selected in the top ranking sites for those.

Specific keyword phrases will also help you to get more targeted traffic and a higher page ranking for these phrases.  Choose "long tailed" keywords or phrases so as to narrow the idea or communicate better to the reader what to grasp.

Look at what the competition is doing also.  Check out at least the top ten results for your keyword phrases on various search engines.  Look at the description and meta tags on your competitors pages to get some ideas.

Don't use too many keywords though.  Optimal keyword density is not clear, but many recommend aiming for 3% and 7% to get the most traffic without being penalized by the search engines.  You don't want to make the article look stuffed with keywords for your readers either.

Put the keywords where they will have the most notice, at the top of the page, in your first paragraph and in the title and headline tags.  You'll want to keep them closer together to add search engine value, but this will not change the optimization of the webpage.  Vary your keywords and don't always use the same ones so that they become very obvious or loud to the reader.

4.  Create Dynamic Links

To achieve a high serach engine ranking it is important to get other sites to link to your membership site.  These will be one way links, or reciprocal links, where you link to another site in return for them linking to you.

5. Easy Navigation

Don't make the readers wonder where things are or need to ask questions to get around the site.  Make the information and linking structure visible and easy to find, a user friendly website.  Give directions and make it easy to find a similar topic or product.

6.  Attention Grabbing Headlines

Use informative headlines throughout your webpage content, including your keyword phrases where appropriate.  Captivate your readers' attention and draw a picture or punctuate an idea, keeping in mind it's not too taxing to follow the flow of the article.

7. Tagging Your Webpage

Finally, remember to include descriptive tags (Alt tags) on graphics so that they make sense and explain what the graphic is, but you'll want to include your keywords if possible.

Also, use descriptive title tags on all of your web pages to show what the page is about.  Limit these to 59 characters.  Add descriptive description tags to all web pages, and limit them to 150 characters.

If you're blogging or article writing, you may be able to include tags at the end of your post.  These tags are associated with your ID and your business or webpage and listed as searchable phrases.  These are tags you won't need to advertise using PPC campaigns.  They are simply posted with the article and indexed according to the post.

If writing regular content is too much of a strain for you, I've found a great way to outsource this problem.  The only thing you'll need to know about this is that your own links will not be the only ones you promote.  It's similar to linking though, so it can benefit the both of you to network on this.  The author that writes the article gets the link and you get the content.  You can get this with a free membership at MyArticleNetwork, you just put your site in and choose the topic and the remote publisher does the work for you.  If you want to also submit your own blogs and articles with your own links, you can pay a small fee and they will be distributed throughout many networks.
