Traditionally the winter months are the most profitable in the online industry. Internet marketing is an integral part of any online business. Therefore strategic planning for the hottest season is a must.

How do you plan for the busiest time in online marketing? You don’t! Well, that’s the biggest mistake there is. If you pass on making at least some money now, you probably never make money with your online business. During the holidays millions of people are online and they’re not always searching for the last minute Christmas gift.

If your website has some rankings in any search engine you will make some money with ad networks like Google’s AdSense or 7Search. That’s only one aspect of online income.

Affiliate programs are a great way to get a piece of the pie without having a website. Especially during the holidays many people try to make some extra cash by joining MLM programs in anticipation of fast cash.

Don’t be fooled, making money online is hard work and never believe a word from savvy online marketers that only want to get your money and run. If it sounds too good to be true, it always is.

Here’s the truth, making millions of dollars online as a single person is a myth. Maybe there’s a one in a several million chance that you will be the next internet millionaire. The chances of winning the lottery are higher than that. If you dream to make millions, play the lottery or gamble in Vegas, but don’t waste your time with internet marketing. Only large corporations with deep marketing budgets are able to rank in millions of dollars.   

I don’t make millions, not even thousands. My income covers my expenses and sometimes there’s a little it left over to take my family to dinner. It is not much, but enough for me to continue what I’m doing. Simply because I love creating things and as long as I don’t have to pay out of my own pocket, I’m Ok. I still have my day job.

There’s one big exception. The Power Blog runs a contest on who refers the most new members. The prices are paid out of my own pocket. This is a great way to get some extra cash.

I might have shared with you that the Power Blog is climbing the search engine rankings. In itself nothing exciting, but for you this could mean cold hard cash. Let’s see if I can explain this in a non-technical way;

Every time somebody visits a Power Blog page or opens a splash page, the Power Blog writes your unique id into a cookie. Cookies are not spyware and most websites use cookies to navigate. Again, this is no big deal if the visitor never comes back to the Power Blog.

But with the increased search engine ranking, visitors will come back to the Power Blog through search engines. If the Power Blog finds its cookie, your id will be used and all affiliate links within the Power Blog will be your links. The visitors buys something and you make the commission.

Ok, one more time. The best way to increase your chances of making money is to use the Power Blog splash pages in as many traffic exchanges as possible. This will spread your Power Blog id in cookies like wild fire. The idea is not to capture leads and new members through traffic exchanges, but to get credits when these visitors return at a later time. This is how you really make money with free traffic exchanges.
