Builder99 Talks About the Ning Social Network

Thousands of Ning Community networks have been created since its humble beginnings way back in the year 2004.

A Ning Network is created when one person uses Ning to build a social group around some particular theme. Then anywhere from a few other individuals to thousands of members join that one Ning Network.

By February of 2006 about 5000 networks had been created. One year later the number was up to 30,000 Ning networks. By April of 2008 the number had skyrocketed to over 230,000 social networks. Current rate of growth is considered to be over one thousand new groups per day.

It is now obvious that huge numbers of people are discovering how easy it is to become part of a Ning social group. Free membership in these groups gives you access to a group forum. Members are given a personal profile page and may also create their own unique Ning blog if they wish to do so.

At time of this writing Alexa gives the main Ning site a 3-Month average traffic rank of 482. Just double checked Alexa again and the one-week average has risen to 368. (The smaller the number, the better the Alexa Traffic Rank rating)

To be considered among the top 500 websites in the entire world doesn't happen by accident. And by the way, Alexa displays individual Traffic Rankings for the various groups found within Ning.
